In the end, I made two bad choices in a row, choosing to run ghost lines from the bottom-left red circle and the bottom-center blue circle to the blue triangle, which tied up two of my locomotives for far too long, and those mistakes (along with a green train sitting in the station for 2 days, please fix that bug Devs) ended up costing me 2k passengers on this run. In addition to placing ghost lines, I also frequently repositioned trains on their own lines, to make sure trouble stations - and stations that were about to cause trouble - were dealt with locally if possible, and I only ghosted stations I couldn't get to otherwise. Since passengers spawn so quickly on this map, every time the trains moved an inch on screen, and every time I laid a ghost line, I had to re-evaluate the entire map looking for my next moves. It took almost an hour to play those 4 days. That screenshot was from the beginning of week 7, and my game ended 4 days later. From here, Hong Kong is all about intensive micromanagement. Sometimes a station will spawn on the small island my red bridge is going over, and you will also need to be able to ghost line over water, hence the two tunnels you must pick up. You also want to make sure that all stations are connected to lines - no "ghost line only" stations here. Lime green is my ghost line, with 3 locomotives for it. (Sidenote: no line has more than 8 stations) This will shorten all of your lines significantly, and the short loop with 2 or 3 trains on it will be able to quickly transport passengers to where they need to go.īased on where the stations tend to spawn, you'll end up with something that looks like this: Instead, you want to build a small loop based around the square station, and have all your other lines connect to the loop. This is a mistake! Trying to get every line to connect to the single square station will make your lines much longer than they need to be, and will basically guarantee early failure as a result. Since there is usually only one square station on the map, it's tempting to make sure every line connects to it. That's your RNG manipulation in a nutshell. Once you have all 7 lines and an extra pair of tunnels, it's all carriages all the time. This will probably only matter once. You want to get up to 7 lines as quickly as possible, so if your choice is between a line and anything else and you're not in desperate need of a tunnel, take the line. For the weekly selection, focus on getting lines, and get tunnels once. It's better if the triangle is in the middle of that area, but as long as you have one you should be okay. Then, I reset again until I got a triangle as one of the four stations south of the river.

Here's what I did:įirst, I reset until my square station was near the bottom river.
Mini metro hong kong how to#
After a lot of time for some reason spent focusing my gameplay on Hong Kong, I have finally figured out how to make it past the ~900 passenger explosion and carry the run into the (for Hong Kong) late game.
